Welcome to Grey Bruce Humanists

If you do not currently affiliate with a faith-based religion, and wish to
join with others who share your views, you may wish to look into The Grey
Bruce Humanists. It’s a philosophy that provides a fulfilling and satisfying life without religion or dogma – a life governed by scientific inquiry, compassion and a rational view of the universe.

On this site you’ll find information about humanists inquiring, learning and living in the Grey/Bruce area of Ontario, Canada. You’ll also find information about Humanism and lots of links to additional resources.

We encourage you to look around, ask questions and come to your own conclusions, since free inquiry and finding answers through rational thought and available facts is part of what Humanism is all about.

Humanist Helping Out

“When we meet we often ‘pass a hat’, to collect small donations from members. Once we reach a threshold, we donate the money to a cause that fits with our Humanist values. Examples in the past include:
  • Good Food Box Owen Sound
  • Avaaz
  • Red Cross
    – for winter heating
  • Guelph Wellington AIDS committee
    – for youth groups
  • Doctors Without Borders
  • Grey Bruce Animal Shelter
  • Wiarton Salvation Army Food Bank
  • Marie Stopes Foundation
    – for providing birth control information in developing countries
  • Grey Bruce Residential Hospice
  • Sponsorship of Humanist Perspectives Magazine (OS Library)
  • Chippewas of Nawash Community Garden
